i didn't want you to feel weird about it that's all
when do you wanna go?
later or tomorrow?
[ Just casually throwing out times in case Lio still might feel awkward about it. ]
no subject
I'm free today. If you wanted to go this evening I'll just let Galo know so he can sort dinner for himself.
Does 6 sound good? Do you need the address?
no subject
i can probably find it on my own but send it just in case?
don't wanna get lost and end up late haha
[ Because that is definitely something that would happen if he didn't know a little about where he was going. ]

[Lio had spent a little more time around Buwan's stop than he'd like to admit, so he knew the address off the top of his head, and sent it promptly. It occurred to him he didn't know what Prompto looked like - and Prompto didn't know what he looked like, so he sent a selfie along with it, with the message:]
So you can pick me out from the crowd.
[And at 6 o'clock he was there, waiting by the entrance to the venue. It wasn't too busy, yet, as business usually started picking up a bit later into the evening, but there was still the typical hustle and bustle one would expect around the business district of Level 3.]

...man. There were just too many cute people around here. ]
oh right good idea
this is me
see you at six
[ He sends his own selfie, hand thrown up in that lazy sort of 'v' with the perfect angle like he's trying to impress him. And by the time six o'clock does roll around, he's actually in the right place and searching around in the crowd. At least Lio's hair helps pinpoint who he's looking for, weaving around some of the people gathering just outside the place and waving to catch the other's attention. ]
Hey! Lio! [ He isn't sure he's loud enough, but he keeps moving until he's in Lio's line of sight. ] Made it just in time. What's up?

Lio had, at this point, decided he was just awful at judging people's ages based on appearances, given people regularly mistook him for being around 18 or younger. He couldn't tell, with Prompto, but they at least looked around the same age. Lio felt better about that - he might have had some qualms with taking a kid or young teen to a fighter's arena.
He lifted one hand in a subtle greeting in return when Prompto spotted him.]
Hey. Nothing much, thankfully. We're here before peak hours, which I prefer. I'd rather not run into Buwan or his more pushy management if we can avoid it - I think they've been interested in roping me into their regular roster, ever since my one fight here. It's still a nice place to hang out regardless.
[Well, Lio's definition of nice, which probably wasn't the same as most other people's definitions of nice.]
Did you want to eat first?

But Lio already seemed nice through his texts, and meeting him in person is proving to be okay too. Prompto never worries too much about age, though he supposes he should now that he isn't in Duplicity. There, he hadn't had to think about meeting kids or anything like that since the city constantly revolved around the D/s dynamic and a lot of sex; while Lunatia caters to the moons, things are a lot different here. So, he can understand Lio's concerns but also still hasn't gotten it into his head yet either. He offers him a smile. ]
Guess I should've realized you liked fighting when you asked me to meet you here. I looked it up a little after. [ Thank you, Lunatian-Google. ] But uh. Sure, yeah. We could eat. They have anything good here?
[ He pauses, rolling up onto the balls of his feet as if to look around. Hopefully, they wouldn't run into any trouble here. ]
If we keep things chill, I'm sure we can avoid whoever too.
no subject
I don't like fighting.
[The correction was swift and blunt.]
I needed to test out my new weapon in an environment that was controlled, but still had some stakes - given this place's tendency to invite danger. But I'm not the kind of person that looks for fights. I just like this place because it doesn't cater to the rich upper class - normal people tend to gather here.
[Level 3 in general was like that, part of the reason Lio spent so much time in Level 3 on the whole.
He beckoned for Prompto to follow him.]
We're near Caihong so there's a lot of far eastern fast food. It's not as good as the stuff in Amegahara, but I'm a little obsessed with their curry. Galo tends to try and order pizza four nights a week, so I try to eat anything but pizza if I can help it.

Prompto ducks his head a little like he's trying to apologize, but mostly, it's to keep the expression he makes under control. Half wince, half kicking himself for just blurting things out that really didn't have much to do with anything. This is why he needs to get better at thinking before speaking, and yet, it just comes out of him without filter. ]
Hey, it's cool. I figure that's why most people come here. Either they like it or they're getting something else out of it. [ A pause. ] I don't really come to places like this a whole lot, so...
[ He shrugs and follows Lio, listening as he stares at some of the people moving around them. It's easy to tell there are a lot of normal people here, and something about it reminds him of Insomnia, of the people who gathered in the lower quarter or maybe even those in Lestallum. At least the comment about pizza has him laughing. ]
Sounds like he'd get along well with my best buddy. If he could get away with it, I think he'd live on pizza too. I'm not picky though, so... let's try something you haven't had before.
no subject
He smiled in reponse to his laugh, hoping it lightened the conversation a little.]
I think most people would get along with Galo. He's easy to be friends with. [Even for someone as standoffish as Lio.]
That won't be too hard. A lot of stuff has been new for me. I don't think I've ever eaten this well in my life, since coming here, though I have a preference for intensely spicy food, as a warning. Anything you'd recommend?
no subject
Dude. [ There's too much excitement in that one word. ] I love spicy. Even when it's so hot I wanna die, it's good. There's this little place down this way that has good noodles. Or we could do, um... I dunno. Let's check it out. If you don't like it, we'll find somewhere else.
[ Hopefully Lio likes spicy noodles? They could also add pretty much whatever they can think of into the dish, so that's nice. He thinks it's not quite as good as Ignis' spicy noodles, but it's still too early to invite him over and introduce him to everyone. He'll give it some time, navigating them into the shop so Lio can look around. ]

If it doesn't make your eyes start watering, it isn't spicy. [He agreed. The type of spicy he liked was the kind that made his mouth feel like it was on fire, that turned his face red and warmed him from head to toe.] If these spicy noodles are as hot as you say, I'm sure they're great.
